As part of OKX's ongoing platform operations, accounts that violate our policies may be subject to closure. You'll typically receive a formal notification immediately after the decision is made, outlining the steps you need to take after your account is closed.

I received an account closure notification. What do I need to do next?

Once the notification is sent, we'll give you a login grace period (the exact timeframe will be specified in the closure notification) during which you can log in to your account and complete the following:

  1. Withdraw your remaining funds: Use the on-chain withdrawal feature to transfer assets in your account to another wallet address or exchange account.

  2. Close your trading activity: If you have any open positions, open orders, or strategy trading orders, we recommend closing them based on your preference to avoid unnecessary risk exposure.

  3. Redeem Earn products: If you have any active Earn products such as Simple Earn, redeem them promptly and then proceed to withdraw your funds.

Note:

  1. During the grace period, your account only supports withdrawals. Deposits, Trading, P2P transactions, Convert, Earn, and other features will be restricted — you won't be able to create any new trading activity. Please plan accordingly to ensure all fund transfers are completed before the deadline.

  2. The system will automatically close your account once the deadline passes.

Note:

  1. Always double-check the withdrawal address and selected network to make sure they match the recipient's details — this helps you avoid any loss of assets.

  2. Each crypto has a minimum withdrawal amount, and withdrawals below this threshold can't be initiated. You can check the minimum withdrawal amount for each crypto on this page.

Can I appeal or restore my account?

Unfortunately, account closure decisions are final and are made after a comprehensive platform review. We're unable to accept any appeal requests.

Why did I receive an account closure notification?

We conduct regular account reviews to ensure all accounts meet our operational, risk control, compliance, and applicable legal and regulatory standards. In rare cases, accounts may be closed as a result of these comprehensive assessments.

Can I still withdraw after the grace period ends?

Once the grace period expires, your account will be automatically closed and you won't be able to log in or perform any operations. If exceptional circumstances prevent you from completing your withdrawal within the grace period, please contact our customer support team as soon as possible — we'll do our best to assist you based on your situation.

Can I deposit during the grace period?

Only withdrawals are supported during the grace period — deposits are not allowed. If a deposit occurs after your account is closed, it will be significantly harder to process. If this happens by mistake, please contact customer support immediately and we'll do our best to help.

Will my Web3 Wallet be affected?

If you're using a non-self-custodial (keyless) Web3 Wallet, it may be affected. We recommend checking your wallet type and planning any asset transfers ahead of time within the grace period.

Can I re-register after my account is closed?

A closed account can't be reactivated, and the associated identity information can't be used to register again. Please make sure to withdraw your assets and complete all necessary actions before your account is closed. Thank you for your trust in OKX.

I have ongoing Earn products. What should I do?

  • Simple Earn Flexible: You can redeem at any time. Once redeemed, funds will be returned to your account and you can withdraw immediately.

  • Fixed-term products: If you have ongoing fixed-term products, please contact customer support after the term ends and we'll assist you with redemption and withdrawal.

I have outstanding loans. What should I do?

Please use the available assets in your account to repay your loans first. If you run into any difficulties (such as insufficient funds), please contact customer support — we'll assess the situation and help you understand your available options.

I changed my password/security settings and now I can't withdraw. What should I do?

To protect account security, changing your password or resetting your authentication method triggers an automatic 24-hour security hold, during which withdrawals aren't available. Please plan ahead and ensure you complete all operations within the grace period.

How will I be notified about the account closure?

Once the decision to close your account is made, a formal notification email will be sent to your registered email address. You can search for keywords like 'OKX,' 'closure,' or 'account' in your inbox.

If you can't find the email in your main inbox, it may have been filtered into another folder (such as Promotions, Spam, or Junk). We hope this helps.
